Senior FITNESS

Legends Program:

General fitness program geared towards addressing many of the problems that face our aging population today. Depending on age, the programs will be specifically geared accordingly. Any and all movements will be scalable for each individual regardless of their physical capability. Programs will be focused on building strength, increasing flexibility, improving balance, and fixing any postural or movement dysfunction. “Aerobic exercises have numerous cardiovascular and musculoskeletal benefits for older adults, and resistance exercise training is the only therapy known to consistently improve muscle mass, strength, power, and quality, as well as overall physical function in older adults” (Lee 2017). Each senior fitness member will be maintenance, just like every other program in the gym. The primary goal of this program is to greatly improve quality of daily life for this older population. Social interaction is also a large part of this program. These individuals will have a place to get out of the house and build relationships with others before, during, and after their class. Most of the older population has minimal experience in a fitness facility, therefore education is going to play a large part for these individuals.
